PADULA NAMED PRESIDENT AT WIDE BAND SYSTEMS
October,
2006
Frank Padula has been appointed President at Wide Band
Systems, Inc., Rockaway, NJ. Padula succeeds William
B. Sullivan, the company’s founder and former
President who passed away earlier this year. Prior to
this new position, Padula served as Vice President/Operations
at Wide Band responsible for administrative duties involving
materials control, purchasing, accounts payable, program
management, contracts administration, and associated
functions. According to a statement from the company's
board of directors, Padula is well qualified to carry
out his new responsibilities based upon his previous
position.
Padula brings to his new position many years of experience
in the defense electronics industry, having joined Wide
Band from a position as product marketing manager at
Northern Scientific Laboratory, Litton Applied Technology
Division. He began with NSL in 1986 as manager of operations
and programs, where he was responsible for manufacturing,
material control, purchasing, sales/marketing, production,
personnel,
finance/accounting, administration, programs, product
budgets, and scheduling. While in this position the
company grew from $500,000 to $6 million in revenue,
and Padula was instrumental in creating the organizational
structure necessary to accommodate this expansion.
Prior to NSL's acquisition by Litton, Padula served
as manager of Business Development and Contracts at
the company where he was responsible for expanding its
product line to other markets. Through implementation
of a JIT manufacturing system, and management of program
contracts, Padula successfully helped the company maximize
profit and meet budget constraints. In this position,
he also served as the key liaison between the company's
marketing department and customers, Padula contributed
significantly to the company's profitability and productivity,
while helping to lower production costs in both labor
hours and engineering time.
Prior to joining NSL, Padula served as a project leader
and quality assurance/quality control engineer at the
U.S. Army Research and Development Command at Picatinny
Arsenal in NJ. While there, he supervised and managed
a $2 million budget for engineers and a support network,
established and monitored quality and reliability requirements,
and originated test plans and design revisions. As a
senior reliability and maintainability engineer, Padula
performed computer aided statistical analyses, conducted
software quality assurance tests, and developed procedures,
sample sizes, and techniques for the replacement of
visual defect inspection of ammunition.
Padula was graduated from the Florida Institute of
Technology with an M.S. degree in Engineering Management,
and the Brooklyn Polytechnical Institute with a B. S.
degree in Aerospace Engineering. In addition, he has
received extensive training throughout his career and
